چکیده
This paper presents a study evaluating the perceptual similarity between artificial reverberation algorithms and acoustic measurements. An online headphone-based listening test was conducted data were collected from 20 expert assessors. Seven tested in test, including Dattorro, Directional Feedback Delay Network (DFDN), (FDN), Gardner, Moorer, Schroeder algorithms. A new Hybrid Moorer–Schroeder (HMS) algorithm included as well. solo cello piece, male speech, female singing, drumbeat rendered with seven three different times (0.266 s, 0.95 s 2.34 s) conditions. The based on Multiple Stimuli Hidden Reference Anchor (MUSHRA) paradigm. reference conditions consisted of same audio samples convolved measured binaural room impulse responses (BRIRs) times. anchor dual-mono 3.5 kHz low pass filtered audio. scored scale zero to hundred. Statistical analysis results shows that Gardner HMS are good candidates for exploration Augmented Reality (AR) scenarios future research.

Hybrid Reverberation Processor with Perceptual Control
This paper presents a hybrid reverberation processor, i.e. a realtime audio signal processing unit that combines a convolution reverb for recreating the early reflections of a measured impulse response (IR) with a feedback delay network (FDN) for synthesizing the reverberation tail. The FDN is automatically adjusted so as to match the energy decay profile of the measured IR. Particular attentio...
متن کاملFast Perceptual Convolution for Room Reverberation
The FIR-based reverberators, which convolve the input sequence with an impulse response modelling the concert hall, have better quality compared to the IIR-based approach. However, the high computational complexity of the FIR-based reverberators limits the applicability to most cost-oriented system. This paper introduces a method that uses perceptual criterion to reduce the complexity of convol...
متن کاملA Reverberation Instrument Based on Perceptual Mapping
The present article describes a reverberation instrument which is based on cognitive categorization of reverberating spaces. Different techniques for artificial reverberation will be covered. A multidimensional scaling experiment was conducted on impulse responses in order to determine how humans acoustically perceive spatiality. This research seems to indicate that the perceptual dimensions ar...
متن کاملBlind single-channel suppression of late reverberation based on perceptual reverberation modeling.
A blind method for suppressing late reverberation from speech and audio signals is presented. The proposed technique operates both on the spectral and on the sub-band domains employing a single input channel. At first, a preliminary rough clean signal estimation is required and for this, any standard technique may be applied; however here the estimate is obtained through spectral subtraction. T...
متن کاملPerceptual evaluation and analysis of reverberation in multitrack music production
Artificial reverberation is an important music production tool with a strong but poorly understood perceptual impact. A literature review of the relevant works concerned with the perception of musical reverberation is provided, and the use of artificial reverberation in multisource mixes is studied. The perceived amount of total artificial reverberation in a mixture is predicted using relative ...
